Scope of Course:
This course offers information for the rehabilitation of the individual that has suffered a stroke. Our focus is on the Sensori-Motor System and its relationship to normal movement. We discuss options for members of the rehab team to effect positive change on abnormal movement. The importance of a multi-disciplinary team is emphasized throughout this course. For these reasons, our target audience includes PT, PTA, OT, COTA and SLP.
Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be
able to:
1. Discuss two similarities of orthopedic and neurological rehab. 2. Discuss at least three prognostic indictors related to stroke/CVA. 3. Identify two important patient responses to monitor during treatment. 4. Discuss strategies of rehabilitation: compensatory, remediation, and motor control/learning. 5. Demonstrate activities to facilitate functional progressions in treatment. 6. State correct documentation process. 7. State correct billing process.
